12v12-25 One Body, Many Parts
It continues to amaze me how unique God has created each person. We all have different passions, desires, gifts, talents, and abilities. God created us with these gifts to be used in partnering with God in his redeeming work of restoring our broken world.
12v26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. (NIV)
There exists a toxic way of thinking that goes something like this: my sin, is my sin and it's between me and God. The problem is, according to this verse we all make up parts of the body of Christ. My sin actually effects you and your sin effects me. Example: If I break a bone in my foot, my whole body suffers. My body is not able to function at 100%. When you or I are entangled in sin, or when we are not fulfilling the role we were created for, the body of Christ suffers.
16v13-14 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.
Imagine the possibilities if we would act out of love. Imagine what the world would be like if we put others before ourselves and elevated the needs of others above our own.
